Classic & Elegant Fine Art Wedding Inspiration | Dallas | DFW

Today I’m sharing this amazing elegant wedding inspiration shoot that was featured on Magnolia Rouge! What an absolute honor it was to be featured on such a stunning blog along with so many talented artists!

When I first saw images of the Trinity Institute I knew I had to shoot there. The colors and textures of the crumbling building inspired ideas of soft romantic palettes and heirloom pieces. I’m so happy to share my favorites from the shoot, because it turned out even more beautiful than I’d envisioned it.

One of my favorite parts of this shoot was getting to work with some awesome DFW wedding vendors. Since moving to Dallas a little over a year ago, I’ve slowly begun to meet other Dallas wedding photographers and vendors, and I’ve found that the talent here is just unbelievable. Brides looking for artists to listen to their needs and ideas and to translate those into unique pieces for their wedding will certainly find that here. As the fine art wedding style has grown in popularity, I’m so thrilled to see vendors in Dallas embracing it. After you look through all my favorite images, be sure to check out all the amazing vendors involved in this shoot, listed at the bottom of the post.

Alexa & Joseph | Adriatica McKinney Wedding Photography

The day was warm and muggy with a little rain in the morning (just for some wedding day luck), but it dried up and the sun peaked out just a bit to brighten up the afternoon. Alexa and the bridesmaids assembled at the site of the reception - the Sanctuary - before the ceremony to get ready and spend a little girl time together. There were lots of tears shed - tears of mom, dad, and all the girls. The tears didn’t stop at the reception, either. The speeches of the parents and the best man and maid of honor moved everyone in the room. It was obvious that these two people were loved maybe even more than they realized. It was a full day, but I had to pick some of my favorite details to share with you…

Annie's Bridal Session | Dallas Arboretum

Last Saturday I had the honor of shooting Annie & Eric’s Dallas wedding at St. Thomas Aquinas. It was beautiful wedding and they were surrounded by friends & family to celebrate their love. I’ll be sharing those photos in just a few weeks, but before the wedding, Annie and I meet up for a bridal session at the Dallas Arboretum.

I’m so glad that Annie chose to add a bridal session to her wedding photos, because I’m just in love with how these turned out and I can just imagine her kids & grandkids looking back at how beautiful their grandmother was in her wedding dress (maybe the same dress they’ll wear someday)!

We meet up on a Sunday morning at the Dallas Arboretum. The air was cool and crisp - you couldn’t ask for more perfect weather to shoot bridals portraits. There are just so many beautiful spots at the Arboretum, but the poetry garden is one of my favorites. The old world elegance of the garden coupled with Annie’s classic lace dress is just perfection. And can you believe the details on this dress?! It’s all handmade by a friend of hers. What a beautiful gift from a friend!

This was also a great opportunity to determine if there were any changes needed to the fitting of the dress or to Annie’s makeup or hair, but I think everything was perfect!

And I can’t wait to share the wedding details in a few weeks!
