Austria Family Vacation Part 2 | Bad Gastein & Halstatt

After our brief but exciting evening in Salzburg we began our driving out of Austria on to Venice. On the way, we drove through the incredibly scenic Hallstatt.

The town of Hallstatt is a pretty popular tourist spot in Austria, based on the large amounts of buses and people snapping photos. And it's easy to see why! The village is full of lovely Bavarian architecture and it's nestled into majestic mountains (which we barely caught a glimpse of because of the clouds.

Sitting on the beautiful Hallstätter See, the calm crystal clear water reflects the majestic mountains. Like most bodies of water I've seen in Austria, this water is absolutely clear. You can see every little fish and rock perfectly. I imagine if not for the depth, you could see straight down to the bottom of the lake!

We spent a couple of hours just walking around and enjoying the beauty, before jumping back in the car and driving to Bad Gastein, where Tommy’s uncle lives.

We weren’t quite sure what to expect of Bad Gastein, so we were pretty shocked to find such an amazing little town here and see the biggest mountains I’ve ever seen!

It was lovely to see so much beauty in this little town and to visit with Uncle Jim, who lives on top of a mountain with some pretty incredible views. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay long, because we had to drive to Venice that evening! Fortunately, a little ways from Bad Gastein, there is a car train that takes you right through the mountains and saves quiet a bit of time. We made it there right before dark to travel on to Italy.

Next week I'll be sharing the final leg of our trip - VENICE!  If you'd like to see the full gallery of trip photos, sign up here and I'll be releasing it on the last day of my blog post!

White Rock Lake Engagement Session with a Puppy | Dallas Wedding Photography

Thrilled to share this adorable engagement session from a couple months ago! White Rock Lake was looking particularly beautiful this evening with that gorgeous late summer sunlight. Natalie and Matt are just adorable and I’m so happy that they brought Mia along for their engagement session. Incorporating your dog into your engagement session (or even family session) makes perfect sense! When your pup is part of the family, having beautiful photos with him in them is extra special! And when the puppy is as cute as Mia, it was hard not to have puppy fever after this session!

Agave & Sand Wedding Inspiration | Dallas Wedding Photographer

So happy to be finally sharing my favorites from this Agave and Sand Wedding Inspiration shoot that was on Ruffled back in October! This shoot was part of the Duo Workshop that I attended in Austin, back in March (seems like years ago after this busy wedding season).

There are so many highlights from this shoot that I'm so happy to finally share. Succulent invitations! Dogwood florals! The most romantic wedding gown!

I have to start by talking about this stunning table. The dogwood table arrangement just blew me away! I love the loose structure of the flowers and stems and how they really complement the details of the Pronovias Atelier gown. The florals mimic the rustic setting and with the natural pottery used on the table settings, everything feels organic, with a touch of the elevated.

And just don’t even start me on this dress! The craftsmanship and details are just outstanding! I love the lace skirt hidden underneath the translucent overlay. It really softens the lace and gives the dress so much texture. Paired with the wild, loose bouquet and soft hair and makeup, this bride is perfect for an outdoor wedding, whether on a ranch or in a garden.

Hope you enjoy my favorites from this shoot…
