Rachel and Gabe | Waco Engagement Session

Rachel and Gabe currently reside in Houston, but they actually met in Waco (where they attended Baylor University). So I traveled down to Waco for their engagement session to capture some memories in a place that means so much to them. I am ashamed to admit it, but all I knew about Waco was what I saw on Fixer Upper, so I was excited to have a couple of locals show me around so I could see what Waco had to offer.

And I wasn’t disappointed! It’s so easy to see all the love the people in Waco have for their city. We spent some time exploring Downtown and the light was just amazing! It was so much fun to shoot all of the interesting architecture and buildings. And of course hearing all the great college reminiscing between the two of them was adorable!

We wrapped up the session at the Waco Suspension Bridge. My favorite part was learning about the Baylor pass-time of tossing tortillas out to the old concrete pylons out in the water. Weird awesome Waco fun!

The light was gorgeous, these two were adorable -  it was a perfect late fall engagement session! I can not wait for their wedding this May!!!

Melissa and Dallas | La Cour Venue | Mckinney Wedding Photography

I had the honor of shooting Melissa and Dallas’s lovely Mckinney wedding back in September and I’m so thrilled to be sharing these images with you, today!

The ceremony and reception were at La Cour, in McKinney, which provided stunning outdoor and indoor spaces for both. The ceremony was late afternoon and the sun added the perfect warm light as Melissa and Dallas shared their vows. Watching them speak of their love and commitment to each other, surrounded by their family, you were able to see the deep affection they have for each other and for their children. Witnessing this real emotion in a wedding day is one of the reasons I love being a wedding photographer!

The wedding details were just incredible! Melissa collected the pieces and planned everything to make sure that every part of the wedding day had a personal touch. Shooting details is always so fun and finding my favorites to share was so challenging! All these details really transformed the already beautiful venue and made it feel personal and intimate.

Dallas’s son and his friends provide music for the cocktail hour and afterward everyone headed inside for an amazing dinner. Dancing and drinks were outdoors afterwards along with cozy seating areas, outdoor games, and a photo booth. There was even a live event painter present to paint their wedding day and create a truly unique piece of art to remember this event.

After a change of attire and a little more dancing, the couple ran through a line of their friends and a shower of confetti, off to their honeymoon. Congratulations to the Moores! I wish you many, many years of joy together! Thank you for allowing me to capture these beautiful memories!

Nasher Sculpture Center Wedding Inspiration | Dallas Wedding Photography

It is so overdue that I finally share this stunning wedding inspiration shoot on my blog! We had the honor of being published on Grey Likes Weddings a few months ago, so I can FINALLY share this here! This past fall I had the honor of shooting at the Nasher Sculpture Center. Since I moved to Dallas I have frequented this art gallery and enjoyed not only the art, but the clean, bright aesthetics of the interior and the lush green gardens. So it was high time that I organized a wedding shoot here to assemble the perfect modern wedding inspiration for this space.

I worked with the amazing Kristen of Ivory and Lace Events to assemble the team and details. Kristen took care of sourcing so much of the shoot and I loved collaborating with her on something that we were both passionate about! We really wanted to create inspiration for the modern, chic, urban bride. Our bride was an art lover so it was important to keep our details clean and minimal in order to not compete with the pieces of art. I also find that in the simplicity there is so much elegance. The columnar Houghton gown was perfection! The lines are clean and straight, but it lays just perfectly and so elegantly.

We worked with a killer team on this shoot and they really helped to bring the details together to make the shoot cohesive. One of my favorite details was the hair styling by Andrea Lozano Beauty. This braid is so cool and I really want to rock this look myself. It was the perfect complement to the dress!

We used contemporary pieces mixed with lots of lush greenery on the table to reflect the gallery space. The invitations also brought in the organic greenery, but kept it clean and the font modern. The stunning baguette ring from Shapiro Diamonds was the perfect final detail. I loved the horizontal orientation of the diamond. It’s timeless but a little surprising. I hope you enjoy my favorites from this shot and that my future brides at the Nasher Sculpture Center are inspired by this!  If you want to see more, click here
