J Fall Family Photos | Brooklyn Family Photography

Like so many families I meet in Brooklyn, the J family had relocated from somewhere not so nearby. In this case, China, which I find pretty cool. There's only so much time to ask personal questions during a session, so I didn't quite get my curiosity about living in China satisfied, but maybe another time. I meet up with the J family and their dog Frida late October in Prospect Park, for a very relaxed photo session. Sara had asked me for a lot of candid photos of the family, because she (like a lot of parents) didn't have many pictures of the three of the together. Fall just so happens to be a great time for fun candid photos, because leaves on the ground make for such a fun game for a one year old.  Kai just turned one year old and is already bilingual (yes, I feel a tiny bit of jealousy, just a tiny one)! He has a thoughtful expression, like a lot of one year olds. We found some leaves to play in and he dove right into the fun of throwing leaves in the air. How can you resist - right? Even Frida got in on the fun.

Snowy Central Park | NYC Adventures

At the beginning of February, we had a huge snow storm and the snow was the wet, thick kind that sticks to the branches and hangs off of everything. I strapped Louis in the Ergo baby and we took the train to Central Park. I’d been dieing to get out and shot the snow, all winter and wanted to take advantage of it while I could. Of course, walking down snow covered paths with a 20 pound baby and a giant camera is NOT easy, but we survived without incident and I got a few good shots before we retreated back in the warmth of the subway. Central Park in the snow is a wonderland and these shots do not do it justice. This won’t be the last time I head there to enjoy the winter wonderland. Untitled-2

Newborn Session {Lucia Rose}

photocrati gallerySunday I had the opportunity for another newborn session! Only two months, ago I meet David and Mandi for their maternity session at the NC Museum of Art. These two decided to wait to find out the sex of the baby so, I've been anxiously waiting to find out if they would have a boy or girl. Well, finally the time has come - they delivered a beautiful baby girl - Lucia Rose - on December 5th! And this little girl is a perfect angel! I know she was well worth the wait for her parents. She barely made a peep while I was there and didn't mind the least bit to be cuddled and posed. Of course, with Christmas being right around the corner we had to do a few Christmas themed poses, just to make things a little festive. There were so many adorable shoots from this session, that it was really tough to narrow down my favorites!
